L I C E N S E D E D U C A T I O N A L P S Y C H O L O G I S T I am a multilingual licensed educational psychologist with over 20 years experience assessing children and young adults for a variety of disabilities. I've worked with families in South Africa and California. My international training and experience afford me a broader perspective and sensitivity for diversity and multiculturalism in the field of assessment and disabilities.
I worked in private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area for 10 years prior to moving to the Sacramento Area where I established my current practice. During this time, I have also worked as a credentialled school psychologist serving students ages three to young adults, with disabilities ranging from mild to severe. My experience as a school psychologist working within the parameters of special education law uniquely equips me with the ability to guide parents and their children in navigating the Special Education IEP and 504 Accommodation Plan processes. I have a Master of Education (Psychology) degree, Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Counseling Psychology, and a Higher Education Diploma from the Universities of Stellenbosch and Pretoria in South Africa. I completed internships both in South Africa and in Sacramento and completed courses in School Psychology at the California State University, Sacramento. I have completed extensive courses and high-level training programs in autism, learning disabilities, dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning, social-emotional/behavioral disorders, trauma, and suicide prevention. I am well-versed in special education law/IDEA and children’s and parents’ rights in the public school system. |
